Zitong Zhao, is an artist born in 1996, ShenYang China. Growing up in China and with various influences from her freelance traveling artist father Jingbo Zhao. Learning from her father at a young age, Zitong Zhao learned from her father’s business of painting and selling realistic portraits. Around from middle school to High school age, Zhao has picked up an interest in Japanese pop culture such as Japanese animation (anime) and Lolita fashion. Zitong Zhao’s peak interest include costumes, which includes cosplay (dressing up as anime character(s)) and Lolita fashion (a sub-genre of Japanese kawaii fashion).  The resurging “Hanfu movement” also greatly influenced her works as addition of the Chinese costume had also started being used in some of her photography pieces. And the recent project “The family” she raises awareness of some environment issues through this family based photographic fashion series. 

 

Often focusing on techniques of composition along with modern pop fashion and design in her photography and video content works. Zitong Zhao specializes in the creation of digital media contents that utilizes props and costumes. Her work and interests include creating contemporary style digital short film stories and the use of fashion to create visually stunning composed images. On top of her artistic works, Zitong also uses her digital content creation knowledge to help local business with promotional videos, commercials, advertisement, fliers, etc.
